Production Assistant/Sewing Machine Operator

TPI Custom Solutions is currently seeking full time/ part time production associates to join their dynamic team in Minneapolis. Our company offers competitive compensation and is an ISO 13485:2016 registered company. Our ideal candidate has previous experience in an industrial sewing type position, is detail orieneted, has the ability to read and understand drawings and patterns, and more.

Basic Functions & Responsibilities

  • Ability to use basic hand tools and power tools on a daily basis
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Use of jigs, fixtures and fabrics to produce products
  • Quality and efficiency is key
  • Ability to learn Company’s basic computer systems
  • Capable of filling out process control documents accurately and completely
  • Read and interpret relevant information from process control documents.
  • Responsible for production sewing of various industrial fabrics using commercial sewing machines such as single/double needle straight and zigzag stitch, binding and programmable sewing machines
  • Responsible for producing quality products per specifications and work instructions
  • May be asked to assist in other areas as required by the business

Requirements

Education

High School Diploma or GED

Experience

1+ year(s) of experience in a manufacturing or general labor industry

Ideal Candidate Abilities

  • Previous experience in an industrial sewing type position is preferred
  • Detail orientation, organization and time management skills
  • Ability to work effectively independently and with others in a team environment
  • Ability to read and understand drawings and patterns
  • Basic math, computer and counting skills
  • Ability to read a tape measure
  • Standing and walking 20% of the time. Bending, twisting, reaching, pushing and pulling on a regular basis.
  • Some basic sewing experience, preferably in a production environment

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand for duration of shift
  • Ability to work independently in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to grasp and pull with fingers
  • Ability to lift up to 15 pounds frequently, up to 50 pounds occasionally
